Accountex 2019 is just around the corner. The number one event in UK accountants’ diaries is back from May 1st-2nd. The event, held at London’s ExCel, unites the most influential trailblazers, cutting-edge tech, inspirational thought-leaders, and ideas every way you turn.
If you’re in the accountancy profession, you’ll want to be there.
Accountex 2018 was a blast. We had a fantastic time. But a lot has happened since. Last year, MTD was a buzz-worthy topic, yet still felt far off. Now it’s implemented and here to stay, what’s going to be the hot topic this year?
The biggest selling point of an exhibition such as this is the sharing of knowledge that goes on. There are over 200 education sessions ranging from seminars to keynotes, panel sessions to interactive workshops – you won’t be bored! Plus, you can earn eight CPD hours for simply attending.
Our CEO and Founder, Hannah Dawson, will be speaking at the Business & Finance Theatre on the topic, ‘50% of businesses still fail at year five. What is the industry doing about it?’ For the last two years, we’ve left no stone unturned in the hunt for both the cause and the solution to the low business success rate, and Hannah will be filling you in on the little something we’ve got up our sleeve (more on that later).
Industry favourites, such as Heather Townsend, Alan Woods, Paul Aplin, among many more, are present too. Whether you’re looking for advice on growing your firm, the newest tech or industry insights, there’s something for everyone.
This year’s Accountex is set to be the biggest yet, bringing together 8,000 accounting and finance professionals. As well as hearing from the big names, use the opportunity to expand your network.
As the competition in the accountancy sector grows, relationships are invaluable. Thought leaders and active members of the profession are often invited to take part in panel discussions, events and other opportunities that will boost the visibility of your firm. Make sure you get your name out there if you’re interested in this kind of thing – it’s fantastic exposure.
Additionally, having contacts across the industry allows you to seek advice and discussion from like-minded people. It keeps you up to date on industry happenings, recommendations and intel on how others are facing issues you’re up against too. Not to mention, it’s a blast!
When it comes to accounting tech, the exhibition hall becomes heaven. A huge range of tech innovators attend and you’ll be able to have a play, and a proper chat with the teams behind them.
If you’re window shopping for new software to implement in your firm, do some research prior to the event. Then you can quickly and efficiently make a beeline for those stalls and get any questions you have answered.
We love a good exhibition. We even launched at one, cracking the market at Xerocon five years ago. This one is especially important to us because we have a new product to launch.
Over the last two years we’ve been reviewing and analysing what’s been working for you and your clients. And we’ve worked out there’s a far easier way to keep track of your clients’ numbers.
And for accountants, we know how difficult it is to adapt your approach to best suit each of your clients, whilst also keeping it cost-effective for your firm.
This is what’s been playing on our minds. How do we bridge that gap? How do we help small businesses stay afloat? And how do we support their accountants?
So we’re aiming to change the fact that 50% of small businesses fail in their first five years. But we need your help to do it.
We’ve been working behind the scenes to create a new breed of technology for both business owners and their accountants.
For business owners, Futrli Platform gives simple but invaluable insights.
For accountants, it’s the essential launchpad for advisory services.
Make sure to come and visit us at this year’s event, we’ll be at stands 560 and 560A!
